Natural Mystic
The Natural Mystic is an all-around squash-tail log with a wide point at 2" behind center. This design is a collaboration between myself, Kevin Dickson & Keiichiro which took shape in Winter 2022 and is quickly becoming a favorite. The concept behind this model is to have a blunter nose answer to my Calafia model. One that preserves extra width up to 4" back from the nose to accentuate nose riding. Bottom contours can also be varied to either my subtle tri-plane or a belly with rails turned up toward the deck (depending on your preferences). Stock bottom contours offer a 36" blended concave. My templates allow for variable nose widths from 17 1/4" to 18".
